The J.L. Suttle's Court Complex is owned by Cleveland County Schools and operated by PACC through a lease agreement. Currently, the only funding for the maintenance and improvement of the facility comes from individual donations, business donations, and proceeds from PACC sponsored events held at the courts (see our History page for the complete journey) .
It is PACC's desire to keep the facility open for public use, and it can happen with financial support from the folks who enjoy using the courts and business leaders in the area who see the benefit of having the courts available in our community.
Come join us for a game of pickleball and consider becoming a steward for this special place in our community. See FAQs below on how to help.
The short answer is yes. The courts are open to the public because the Cleveland County Schools, PACC, and PACC's supporters have made it available. It can stay that way as long as the community helps us take care of the courts by following the basic rules of keeping objects off the courts that may leave marks (especially objects with wheels) , refrain from bringing food and drinks inside the fences (water is ok), and following the rules governing school property including but not limited to no alcohol, no tobacco products, no profanity, and proper attire worn while at the facility. Consider contributing by participating in PACC sponsored events held at the courts, becoming an annual donor, or simply donate if you enjoy using the courts and want to give back so that others may enjoy it as well.
Glad you asked! There are several ways to help PACC since the courts are not currently funded by city or county resources.
You can become an annual donor to PACC (all donations are used soley for court maintenance and operation, no individuals are ever paid with donations to PACC). Use the Contact Us link at the bottom of any of our webpages to let us know you would like to become an annual donor or a one-time donor.
You can participate in PACC sponsored events such as ladder leagues, tournaments, and/or special events. Registering for events is easy through the Event Registration page.
Businesses or other community organizations that would like to become supporters of the courts can get in touch with us through the Contact Us link at the bottom of any of our webpages. We would love to add your business logo to our Supporters page.
The courts are available as long as there is no scheduled event posted on the PACC calendar. The courts do have lights. A timer is located on the brick wall under the observation deck and may be turned on until 10:30 pm.
The restrooms at the courts are open during scheduled PACC events and open play times specifically scheduled on the PACC Calendar. If the calendar does not show a scheduled event, the restrooms will probably not be open.
The organized events are operated by volunteers and are typically advertised about a month before they happen. When events are scheduled, they will be added to the PACC Calendar, registration instructions will be posted on the Event Registration page, and a flyer will typically be posted on the bulletin board at the courts.
